OUR CATS & KITTENS

CHEESE

1-2 years old
female
7 lbs

Cheese is a special girl. She was part of a colony of feral cats that were living in an alley and trying to survive. She had been trapped at some point in her early life and spayed and them put back out to live with her colony. But it was apparent that her colony was in danger.

They were living behind an abandoned restaurant and a new business was moving next door and people and machines and activity was terrifying to the colony. They began to run and hide and just trying to stay alive. Several were hit by cars, other disappeared never to be seen again. Some were trapped and moved.

Cheese was one of the cats that was trapped in this desperate attempt to save the cats that had lived their whole lives outside in the alley fearing for their lives every second of every day. They had no reliable source of food (other than what kind caregivers would bring) and they had never ever known a day of warmth, love or safety.

Operation Pet Rescue heard about Cheese and we just had to give her a chance to experience what so many other cats have...and that she never had a chance to know. This poor girl deserved food, shelter and to know love.

She is terrified. She hisses and swats when you go near her cage. She will need to be kept in a cage and talked to and read to and sung to. She will learn that a person can be kind. She can learn to be loved and when she does her world will change. It could take a year. But she can have this if someone will open their heart and their life to Cheese. Because even the lonely unspoken feral ones left to the dark hiding spots of our world deserve a home and to know kindness and love.

KILLIAN

(DOB@6.01.23)
Female
@7 lbs

Killian is a very beautiful tuxedo girl who was living with a group of cats and kittens in an alley behind Sawmill Rd. Killian was one of several kittens that were abandoned when their owners who once loved them left them behind when they moved. Poor Killian has a ruptured globe in her right eye (she was most likely born this way) She can't see out of that eye well but is still perfect just the way she is. She is also very shy and scared. She is living in a cage and cowers when we pet her. She will need someone that is willing and able to work with her to show her that people are good. Many semi-feral and feral kitties that have never known human kindness can become tame and sweet pets if someone is willing to devote the time and effort necessary to help these babies trust for the very first time. And once (after many months) you win that trust there is no more loyal or loving pet...and there is no better feeling to have been given that gift of trust from the once lost, lonely and terrified little animal. She will probably be overlooked but she deserves a chance to have the chance to experience a home of her own and to learn how to love and trust. If you can open your heart to Killian, please complete an Adoption Adoption Application

FLYNN

6 months (DOB @6/01/23) male
@6 lbs

Flynn was found sitting by himself on Sawmill Rd. in front of the deserted Iaconno's restaurant. He was just a kitten sitting out on the front of the empty restaurant entryway.

We saw him and went back to get him. He is @ 6 months old and is a beautiful little boy. He loves other cats and loves to be petted! He LOVES to play with toys and has the loudest purr when you pet him...but he is still a little afraid when he is picked up.  He is getting more confident every day.  He needs someone who will love him and pet him and show him that people are good and that he is safe.

He has been living in a cage waiting for a foster home or a forever home to choose him. He wants to be out and exploring not locked in a cage waiting.

Can you open your home to Flynn? Please complete an Adoption Application

MERIDA

7 months (DOB@05.01.23) female
@6 lbs

Sweet little Merida was part of a colony of cats that was living in the alley behind some businesses on Sawmill Rd. The people working at the businesses were worried about all of the kittens living/growing up there without anyone to help them. So we went in to help.

Merida was the first one that we caught. She is a beautiful little tortie girl. She is tiny and very shy.

She will need a very special adopter to show her that people are good and that she doesn't have to be afraid ever again.

She will take some effort but when you win the trust of a pet that has never known love...when they love you it is BIG...like no other.

If you can find it in your heart to take a chance on Merida and give her the chance to know patience and love, please complete an Adoption Application.

PERCY

(DOB@07.04.21)

Male
@1-2 lbs

Percy is 2-3 year old GORGEOUS and SWEET Abyssinian mix. He is TALL and LEAN and has the beautiful Abyssinian coloring and almond eyes. He has the personality to match. He is the friendliest and smartest sweet boy in the world. He is gentle, calm,  and loves every person he meets. He is confident and loving and does well with other cats and is happy with whatever attention he can get. He is living in a cage in his foster home...and so grateful. He never cries or begs to get out. He just reaches through the bars to grab the fosters as they go by.

You see, Percy's owners dumped him (and his friend Pippa outside at the apartment where they lived in single digit temperatures in January when they moved away. He stayed outside the sliding glass doors to "his" home for over a week waiting for his owners to let him in. The neighbors put food out for him and Pippa and when they found out that the owners had left for good, they called us. And there he was, still waiting for his "people." Percy is the gentlest cat you will ever meet. He has some hair loss on his back/neck and tail where he has been grooming himself excessively (this can be caused by stress so we are hoping that a safe warm home will help him get better and allow his hair to grow back.) Regardless he is a beauty and he is so smart and friendly....if you meet him you will love him.

If you can open your heart and your home to this sweet boy please complete an Adoption Application.

NOAH

~5 years
Male
@11lbs

Sweet Noah has had a horrible horrible life and he is the sweetest boy. He once must have had a loving indoor home because he sat at the windows of homes in the small town outside Dayton…longingly looking in and begging with little paws on the windows to be let in.

The residents in the town put food out for him but there were many outdoor kitties in the area…so many thought he had a home somewhere. Then one day two unleashed large dogs rushed into the yard where Noah was sitting and broke into the fenced area where he ran for cover. A neighbor came out screaming when she saw the two dogs viscously attacking Noah and she rushed to his rescue.

Noah was barely alive when he was rushed to the vet. He almost lost an eye and went through a long recovery period where even the vet wasn’t sure he would make it. But the sweet strong loving boy lifted his little head one day and head bumped the neighbor that rescued him when she visited and they all knew he was fighting hard to stay alive.

He recovered…and during his recovery it was discovered that he had FIV (which is the cat version of human AIDs.). While cats with FIV can live long healthy lives, it is an immuno deficiency disease that means that viruses that other cats can quickly overcome can be deadly to him.

And while FIV is not easy to pass to other cats (it requires a bite wound to transfer to another cat) being around healthy cats that carry even minor viruses or being in a home where there is a lot of change or stress can cause the FIV to become full blown FIV.

So poor Noah…just when it looked like he may finally have a good future ahead has been served another round of bad luck. Who would ever adopt him knowing that he will need to be in a nice calm home without a lot of stress, without a lot of other cats, in a home where he will need to see the vet for blood tests at least once a year to make sure everything is okay inside.

Now Noah has to be labeled as a special needs cat …and that means that he will most likely be overlooked when people are picking out a kitty to adopt. Noah deserves more than this for the rest of his life. Could you give this sweet boy…a boy who loves everyone but who has had a horrible life so far…a home where he can be lived and protected? If you can give him a chance to have happiness for the rest of his sweet life, please complete an Adoption Application

STONE

1 year
Male
15 lbs

Stone is the SWEETEST cat that we have ever met.  He was found near a Food Pantry one afternoon running from person to person begging to be picked up.  He is a BIG boy with the best markings.  But the most amazing thing about Stone is his personality.  This boy LOVES everyone he meets.  He loves to be held, to be with you wherever you go, and is just happy to be with people all of the time.  This is a cat that really believes that he is a dog.  He is going ot make an amazing new family member for someone.  Stone is one of a kind and he deserves a person or family that will give him loads of love and attention for the rest of his long life ahead.  Could you be the person that will go through life with the sweetest boy in the world?

If you think you can be the one to give Stone the love and home that he has been waiting for, please complete an Adoption Application!
