OUR ADOPTION PROCESS

Your choice to adopt a pet from Operation Pet Rescue will change the life of that pet forever!

 
1. Complete and submit an Adoption Application.

2. A volunteer adoption coordinator will review your application and contact your references.

3. If the application is complete and the references have responded, an adoption coordinator will contact you to schedule a home visit at you home. (At the home visit you will meet with the adoption counselor, talk about any concerns or things you need to do to get your home ready for a new pet, and answer any questions you may have.)

4. Once the home visit is complete the adoption counselor will make a recommendation to the Adoption Committee who will approve your adoption of the pet.

5. Once approved, we will complete the adoption at your home. We will complete the Adoption Contract, provide medical records and microchip information, and any additional tips and recommendations for introduction of your pet to his/her new family and life with you!

6. You will receive an adoption folder is presented (including your new pet’s medical record, microchip registration, and adoption contract.)

7. Finally,  a “Happy Tails” photo is taken of you and your new member of the family and posted on our website to share the joyful news of your adoption

8. And then you begin your new life together.
